About Us

Jason and Heather met in the lobby of Jason's business in January 2004. A week later, they went to dinner and a movie and have been together ever since.

The Proposal

Jason proposed to Heather on Christmas morning, 2007 at Jason's parents' house.

At the Young house, it is a Christmas tradition to wake up early, have a cup of coffee or cocoa, and take turns opening presents.

As everyone sat down to open gifts, Jason left the room. When he reappeared, he was holding four tiered boxes wrapped together with golden ribbon.

Jason handed the group of presents to Heather and said, "Here, you go first." Heather slowly untied the ribbon, not knowing what to expect.

She carefully opened the top box and revealed her first gift – a teddy bear. But it wasn't just any bear, it was the bear given to Jason on the day he was born. It was a very sweet and sentimental present, but it is ordinary for Jason to give thoughtful gifts.

After thanking Jason for the bear (and tearing up a bit), Heather opened the second box. Inside was a photo album. Throughout the book, there were photos from Jason's life and captioning containing the life lessons learned from each captured moment.

On the very final page, there was a paper heart with the words "Join in my life, and as you do, I will use the lessons of my past to build our future. Will you marry me?"

Heather re-read the page a couple of times to make sure she was reading correctly. She then said, "Jason, are you serious?" But she didn't need to ask. Jason's eyes were filled with tears and he had a nervous smile on his face. He shook his head yes, and Heather said "Yes!" Jason and Heather hugged for a long time while Jason's parents congratulated them.

After the moment finally sunk in, Heather was told to open her final two gifts. With her hands shaking, she opened the third present. It was another bear, but this time it was a new bear. It had a zipper on its belly. Inside, Heather found a fortune from a fortune cookie that said "You will receive a pleasant surprise."

Last, but not least, was the fourth present. Heather carefully opened the box and gasped. Inside was a beautiful diamond ring unlike anything she had seen before.

Heather's RingWith her hands trembling, she removed the ring from the box and handed it to Jason. He placed it on her finger and she gave him another long hug.

Later, everyone celebrated and shared the news with friends and family over dinner at the Young's house.
